ABOUT

Michelle Williams

CHEF/OWNER OF GOOD IV THE SOUL

“A CHEF HAS VERSATILITY. SWIFT AND ON THEIR FEET. NOT AFRAID TO TAKE A CHANCE AND EXPLORE THE WORLD OF FOODS TO BLOW THE MINDS OF THE PALATE PLEASERS.”

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Michelle has spent her career giving back to and raising up her community. After graduating Midwood High School in Flatbush, Brooklyn, Michelle attended New York City College of Technology, where she discovered her passion for the hospitality industry. Michelle studied abroad in Paris, completed an internship at Walt Disney World, and graduated in 2007 as a certified chef with a degree in Hospitality Management. Upon graduating, Michelle became the Operations Manager of kitchens in the Midtown Manhattan school district for many years. During this time, she discovered her passion for teaching and giving back to young adults, and decided to get the certification needed to teach. For almost a decade, Michelle has been teaching culinary arts in-and-out of the classroom, offering mentorship and creating a community for young adults.

What's GOOD IV THE SOUL

Michelle launched Good IV The Soul in 2007. What started out as a passionate hobby baking cakes and pastries for loved ones, has slowly grown into a catering company that caters a wide range of events, from weddings to baby showers, and employs many of the students Michelle has taught over the years. Through Good IV The Soul, Michelle shares her love and passion for food and cooking for loved ones, offering creative spins on Soul Food, and oftentimes incorporating ingredients and flavors from Southern, Caribbean, Latin American, Asian and Middle Eastern cuisines. Over the next few years, Michelle hopes to open a brick and mortar storefront for Good IV The Soul, employ additional young adult students from the community, and incorporate a non-profit component.
